Laura Lauberte
APPROACH AND BACKGROUND
“I hold space for my clients and witness the process of exploration that is necessary for finding ways towards deeper self knowledge. Often people seek therapy when there is a sense of fragmentation or falling apart. Finding connections to different parts within oneself can be necessary in order to feel connected again. Unravelling knotting in relationships, in grief, in suffering can lead to a sense of meaning and purpose.
Training, qualifications, and experience
I have trained at Philadelphia Association in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and phenomenology. I have over 4 years experience of clinical work and have established a private therapeutic practice whilst completing my studies at Philadelphia Association. Prior to my training I completed a BA in Study of Religions at SOAS and an MA in Psychosocial Studies at Birkbeck.
I have engaged with therapeutic communities set up by Philadelphia Association, where I worked from April 2022 until February 2023. For 2 years I facilitate a year long experiential group as part of the Introduction Course at Philadelphia Association.
I worked with vulnerable groups as a family support worker for over 6 years.
I am involved with women’s groups for over 10 years, where women have an opportunity to be mutually supportive throughout the diverse journeys, and in various stages of their lives.
Currently I am working on my thesis and my approach is embedded within psychoanalysis, phenomenology and feminist philosophy.
I see clients through the clinic at Philadelphia Association, as well as in my private practice.
