Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Approach and background

Deciding to go to therapy, and finding the right therapist can be a daunting and difficult process.

My aim is to make that as easy as possible for you and I offer a free, initial first session of 30 minutes for you to test the waters and figure out if I feel like the right therapist for you.

I practice with warmth, empathy and compassion which aims to facilitate you to feel safe to share what might be worrying you in a trusting, confidential space.

I’ll never push you to talk about anything you don’t want to, instead I’ll work to remain by your side to support you in unfolding your feelings however way you wish to.

I’m an integrative therapist which means I draw from a toolbox of skills and modalities so that I can tailor my therapeutic approach to suit your unique needs.

My grounding is in the philosophy of the person-centred approach; I trust in the direction that clients wish to explore. I believe we all have the potential to grow and hold the answers within ourselves.

I draw upon psychodynamic ideas – considering how our childhood experiences and key patterns of attachment to parental figures in our early years influence how we relate to ourselves, others and the world in the here and now.

I’m also trauma informed. This means I’m well versed in old and new research that helps us understand how to work with and navigate trauma in the body and mind.
