The Brixton Practice
The Brixton Practice is a new counselling and psychotherapy service situated in the heart of Brixton. We offer individual, couples and group therapy. All practitioners, whilst varying widely in background, experience and training, work from one consistently supported research outcome:
IT IS THE QUALITY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE THERAPIST AND CLIENT THAT PREDICTS SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES
This aligns with the fundamental psychological principle,
AS HUMANS OUR MOST PRIMITIVE AND IMPORTANT UNIVERSAL NEED IS TO BE IN RELATIONSHIP
The practice is a one-minute walk from Brixton tube station at Tunstall Studios, 34-44 Tunstall Road, SW9. There are 4 consulting rooms of various sizes which provide appropriate and confidential space for the different services offered.
If you would like to book an appointment you can request a free initial consultation where your needs will be assessed and next steps discussed, including offering therapist recommendations. Alternatively, you can go to Practitioner profiles and book directly with your chosen therapist.

Testimonials
Coming to Therapy
You might feel the need for therapy for a wide range of reasons, but fundamentally it is our relationship with ourselves, others, and the world around us that lies at the core of our psychological well-being. Coming to therapy can help you better understand how to improve these relationships.
It can feel frightening and anxiety provoking to seek out professional support. After all the idea of speaking with a stranger about your vulnerabilities is an unusual concept to imagine.
Taking the step to talk to a therapist can be an extremely relieving experience that offers an opportunity for growth and change. You will be received non-judgementally with compassion, underlined by the fundamental idea that:
EACH AND EVERY HUMAN BEING IS VULNERABLE AND REQUIRES SECURE RELATIONSHIPS TO PREVENT VULNERABILITY FROM BECOMING OVERWHELMING.
You may require a short-term therapy; perhaps to process a recent difficulty or situation, or longer-term support to work through deeper engrained complexities.
In all circumstances therapy is offered open-endedly, with you deciding when you are ready to finish.
Typically, therapy is weekly or fortnightly. Click below to find out more about individual therapist offerings or to request an initial free consultation.
The Brixton Practice is based in one of several small studios within a small and quiet building. It is located a one-minute walk from Brixton tube station and bus stops. For those who like to cycle we have space inside where you can leave your bike during sessions.
